We have long pondered the best way to highlight the few hundred oldest Viognier vines in a less sunny environment with powdery and limestone soils. Lusis, meaning “solution” in ancient Greek, encapsulates our approach. By precisely targeting the harvest date for golden but still crunchy fruits, hand sorting in the vineyard, very slow fermentation, and delicate aging, we have found a very pure, very fresh, and highly complex yet incredibly seductive answer.
