« Saint Jacques »
Appellation : AOP Vinsobres
Terroir : Miocene marls mixed with Pliocene pebbles and Alpine torrent conglomerates. Located in the Saint Jacques area of the appellation, on hillside slopes, our 5 hectares of Syrah and Grenache benefit from the generosity of this cru and a more pronounced mineral soil compared to the lower village. This sector is swept by cool winds descending from the Alps. The grapes are cultivated using natural methods with a ground cover of rye, vetch, and fava beans. We harvest sun-soaked but balanced fruits with a fresh structure based on a triptych: mineral, black fruits, and spices.
GRAPE VARIETIES
: 65% Grenache (60 years old), 35% Syrah (40 years old)
The nose offers black fruits, olives, and oriental spices. On retro-olfaction, the initial nose is complemented by a touch of graphite and a floral echo. On the palate, there is richness supported by freshness and a salinity that dominates the sweetness. The tannin grain begins at the end of the attack and remains underlying, providing a linear and broad mouthfeel. The finish is persistently stable with a slight rise in freshness, thanks to the high slopes. The whole forms a very stimulating and rich combination without being cloying, but rather very salivating and appetizing.
This cuvée will delight lovers of concentrated wines seeking harmony and elegant power.
