« Sangue d’Alba »
Appellation : AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages Valréas
Terroir : Clay-limestone. Double cordon de Royat. This fabulous terroir influences the parcels of our high-altitude vines, predominantly east-facing with a limestone subsoil. These vines naturally exhibit, to varying degrees depending on the vintage, the DNA of these Piedmontese balances.
GRAPE VARIETIES
: 95% Syrah, 5% Grenache. Average vine age: 30 years.
Our Sangue d’Alba is an ode to the great wines of Piedmont, Italy. No Nebbiolo here, but some parts of our Syrah, tinged with Grenache, have patiently over the years embraced the lyricism of this part of Italy. This is reflected in the high olfactory notes and the fresh, assertive gustatory precision. Antique rose, aging that develops camphor, truffled undergrowth, wild berries, slightly decadent oriental spices, and the last echoes of musk create a unique, different, and endless universe, both in the fragrance palette and on the palate. The persistence is long and evocative of autumnal flavors.
