« Jugunda »

Appellation : AOP Gigondas
Terroir : Located in the commune of Gigondas, "Jugunda" is selected from one of the oldest estates of the appellation, encompassing two different yet complementary terroirs of Grenache and Syrah. The aim is to offer a wine that reveals both the strength of this terroir and the elegance of high-altitude Grenache. Our wines come from the blend of these two distinct terroirs: - Limestone pebble terraces on red clay soils situated to the west of the appellation, where old Grenache vines over 60 years old are grown in goblet style, and Syrah is trained in Royat cordon. - In the magnificent setting of the Dentelles de Montmirail at an altitude of 600 meters, a Jurassic limestone terroir with marl outcrops supports Grenache vines trained in Royat cordon.
GRAPE VARIETIES : 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah

The wine has a deep color with shades of dark carmine red. The nose is complex, with Mediterranean and sub-Mediterranean spices, candied red fruits, and earthy humus. The palate is opulent yet very fresh, with a structure of tight but very fine tannins from the attack to the elegant and persistent finish. Aging in 228-liter Burgundian barrels integrates perfectly, leaving a very long finish without losing its freshness. This is a Gigondas for those who appreciate concentrated yet feminine wines.
