OUR WINES
Parcelle de Jean
AOP Saint Joseph
Syrah
Decomposed granite soils with parcels of schist and limestone. The dry-stone terraces were hand-built to minimize erosion. Our 1.85-hectare vineyard faces south-southeast.
Vinified at the estate, our wines are made from hand-harvested grapes, partially destemmed and placed in vats with light doses of sulfur. Fermentation occurs in contact with the skins for 3 to 5 weeks at a temperature of 22/23°C, with gentle extraction and regular lees stirring. After pneumatic pressing, the free-run and press wines are blended. The wine is aged for 14 months, with a portion in 500L oak barrels and the rest traditionally in vats.
Juicy with numerous notes of black cherries, minerals, and sweet spices, supported by a solid medium-weight grip. This St Joseph has an appealing savory quality with a meaty character. Plenty of richness and good acidity. A hint of oak on the finish.
